Femi Niyi
Femi is a business strategist and thought leader with a unique blend of investment banking, business and technology experience garnered from his broad-based work experience and extensive academic training.
Femi’s 17 years banking career saw him principally involved in structured financing and the development of asset portfolios in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors. He had stints with Union Bank, Equity Bank and Intercontinental Bank Plc and was later appointed MD Intercontinental Bank, Sierra Leone, a role from which he resigned in January 2009 to Join Courteville Business Solutions Plc.
At Courteville, Femi served as the executive director for projects, strategy and research and led development teams for the design, implementation and maintenance of e-government information systems that managed motor vehicle administration documentation, drug regulation control and administration as well as an insurance policy repository and verification hub, among many other e-solutions, which have all been described as first of their kinds in Africa.
Now a business strategy consultant, Femi has led and continues to lead a cocktail of client engagements that span business and technology strategy, business process analysis, change management, technology selection, enterprise technology implementation, and various business and technology transformation concepts. He is currently involved with a FINTECH seeking to disrupt the cross-border currency exchange market and also a team member of a tech start-up focused on the development of an Infotech ecosystem for the health sector.
As part of his humanitarian and social intervention interests, Femi currently Chairs the board of trustees of Coderina Education & Technology Foundation, an independent, not-for-profit organization that is focused on promoting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Africa with a bias for teaching students coding and robotics.
Femi Niyi holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Agriculture Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure and an MBA in Marketing from the same University. He also has a Senior Executive Masters Program certification in Information Systems from the Metropolitan School of Business & Management, UK. Femi has attended numerous courses in India and Europe and is an Alumnus of the London Business School from which he received senior executive leadership training.
Essentially Femi is a business strategist, solution provider and serial entrepreneur with a bias for IT focused solutions development and strategic market entry analysis.
Femi is an avid sportsman and fitness aficionado. He loves reading with a bias for history and enjoys travelling. He is married with a son.
