Short Biography of our team members
Olajide Ademola Ajayi is a Software Engineer at SAP Ireland. Passionate about Ed-Tech, creativity and innovation, Ade is the founder of CODERINA, an NGO working to promote and strengthen coding and STEM skills acquisition among African students and teachers. He is involved in several STEM /Coding initiatives such as: EU Code week, CoderDojo and FIRST LEGO® League. Ade is a jury on the Ireland FLL Championship panel and coordinates similar activities in Nigeria. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science as well as a PMI membership & Graduate Certificate in Innovation in Social Enterprise from the Dublin City University.
Funmi has over twenty years of professional work experience working in a variety of positions within the Education sector; she gained a post graduate diploma in Information and communication Technology for Education at University of Westminster. She has had a teaching career in primary and further Education in London United Kingdom. As class teacher/ Religious Education Coordinator, duties include ordering resources and controlling budgets. Worked with special Educational needs children and also worked as English as an additional language teacher, she has taught City and Guilds National Vocational Qualification Using IT, Hardware and Software and Family ICT in various colleges. She has also sat on different Education appeals panel for Hammersmith and Fulham Education board. She achieved the National Standards performance for effective teaching (Performance Threshold). Funmi is passionate about teaching computing and ICT, she is a STEM Ambassador, digital Champion and member of the Code Club in United Kingdom she has delivered STEM events. Such as learning to code using scratch and giving career talks in schools. As a digital champion she continues to help people gain the skills they need in a digital world. She not only inspire young people, to learn she also support teachers in the classroom by explaining current practise on STEM and the use of new technologies such as Google apps and Wiki spaces collaborative tools As a consultant she has advised management and leadership in the education industry as well as non for profit organisations in UK and Nigeria.
Dr Adegboyega Ojo is Research Fellow and E-Government Unit Leader at the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) - a leading center in Semantic Web and Linked Open Data research. At DERI, his research and development work addresses how public organizations can effectively leverage Linked Open Government Data for public service and policy innovation. Before his current role, he worked as Academic Program Officer and Research Fellow at the Center for Electronic Governance, United Nations University – International Institute for Software Technology (UNU). At UNU, he supported governments in Africa, Asia, and Latin America; including Macao, Korea, Mongolia, Colombia, Cameroon and Nigeria. His expertise in E-Government is in the areas of Strategies, Architecture and Standards, Measurement, Software Infrastructure, Whole-of-Government models and Linked Open Government Data. Before his international engagements, he was Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he earlier earned his doctorate and bachelor degrees in 1998 and 1991 respectively. He is a member of Computer Professionals of Nigeria.
Dr Aminat A. Showole is currently the Director of the Centre for Corruption Studies, University of Abuja. She is a Computer Science/Information Technology Professional and the immediate past Head of the Department of Computer Science, University of Abuja. Her research interests include Open Source Development, Open Government, Open Data, Big-data and Software Engineering Processes. Dr Showole is the Director of Engagement & Advocacy for Coderina. Her passions include empowerment and capacity building of youth and women. She was the co-coordinator of the first ever FIRST® LEGO® League Tournament hosted by the University of Abuja. She is a stakeholder of the National Internet Government Forum. She was a key Resource person at the 2015 Women Leaders Forum. She hopes to help foster a corruption-free society using ICT techniques.
